| Editorial Reviews: | | |  | | The BBC's veteran time-traveling sci-fi hero returns via a smart 21st-century update, one whose adventurous plot lines and super-charged visuals inspired this equally ambitious musical score anthology (covering seasons one and two, as well as two extended specials) by Murray Gold. The composer's sinewy, synth-charged update of Ron Grainer's original '60s series theme is a study in spooky dramatics that's also treated to a more expansive, album-closing arrangement, while "Westminster Bridge" and "Slitheen" revel in muscular evocations of spy music past that recall Michael Giacchino's similar tongue-in-cheek romps for The Incredibles. From there, Gold's music steadily expands in scale and scope, often achieving big-screen dimensions via the cinematic sweep of "Boom Town Suite"/"I'm Coming to Get You," the minimalist-tinged rhythms of "Clockwork Tardis," or the overt piano-and-orchestra melancholy of "Rosie's Theme." | What happened to Song for Ten???????????????? | |
| | mostly great songs, overall great CD and a must have for any Whovian! but it is the wrong version of song for Ten!! I fail to see the point in putting a different version on the soundtrack to what was in Christmas Invasion, I loved the Christmas Invasion version, but I can't say the same for this one. I really can't see the point in including a completely different version, and I'm especially annoyed as nobody bothered to specify the CD version was different.

There are two versions of the doctor who theme, one is the title theme and one is a three minute one.
There are two song with lyrics, one is Song For Ten which is at the end of the 'chrismas invasion' and the other is 'love dont roam' which is at the end of the episode with donna noble (catherine tate)

| | Rubbish cd, no work or thought has gone into it, yet it could have been brilliant. The Beeb have put together a cd full of awful themes that do not do justice to the excellent music composed for Dr Who.
I am hoping there is another CD produced for the 2nd and latest 3rd series as the music is excellent.

| | This is such a good CD! I got it for a tenna and it was worth every penny! I especially love the Theme Tune Album Version! But, one down side; "Song For Ten" is a bit iffy. But still, this is the best ever soundtrack. I just wish they would hurry up with the music from Series 3!

| | All I can say is I hope the BBC continue to use Murray Gold and the BBC Wales Orchestra for a very long time on Doctor Who. If you enjoy(ed) the superb new series you'll want to relive the music and this is the best way to really listen & enjoy the pure emotion written into each piece, which so supports the excellent crew, cast, script etc etc. I'll stop gushing while I'm ahead...
