Nice Kettle
4 out of 5 stars.
I live in a hard water area and can see limescale developing on the inside but no more than any other kettle I've owned. To ensure that the outside stays in good condition, I make sure that I wipe off any water with a dry cloth/paper towel, job done, no marks!

I understand about the odd taste but have found it only happens if the water has been allowed to sit in the kettle for a while; the easy remedy is to renew the water before each use.

Nice rapid boiling kettle and I don't think that this is an excessively noisy when it does so. Don't think that it's particularly heavy either, even when full.

I would definitely recommend this kettle. It looks nice, is compact and does what it's supposed to do, boil water!

Heavy duty - and it lets you know it.

There is no doubt this is a well made product - it is a Philips after all - but I can't deny I am a little disappointed. Boy is it noisy. A few minutes after switching it on all normal conversation ceases. It's uping the volume on the TV just to follow the story so when the adds come it's like being under the public address system on platform 9 as an express goes through. Problem two: boy is it heavy. Lift it when full from that rather low holding position and you're looking around for your personal trainer: why is that it seems so much heavier and not well balanced when full of boiling water? The last is trivial but here goes: boy is it scaly. Our London lime scale: more than any other kettle I've owned the viewing panels and filter become unsightly in just a few weeks. If you are making coffee for someone special, whatever you do don't let them look inside - ugh! Apart from that it's a pretty good bit of kit in the sense that it boils the water quickly and looks as though it will last a lifetime - so I'm stuck with it. Better toughen up and buy some ear-plugs.

Great kettle!!!

before I've decided to buy this kettle i've read all the reviews here, and even though there are some negative ones, i still bought it since it is one of the most popular, and i have to say i don't regret it! kettle looks great, its really easy to fill up and you can be sure that water is boiled not just heated up, tea tastes great - no funny or weird tastes like some people said, really no down sides to it, i recommend it to everyone
i wanted to buy the same one that i had before (Prestige 50453 Symmetry), and good job i checked rewievs here - stopped me from making huge mistake

A great product

A stylish reasonably priced kettle. Rinsed out the kettle as instructed and enjoyed a perfect tasting cup of tea. Kettle is quieter than my previous one. Very pleased with it.

Good

This product from Philips meets my expectation. A nice outlook and it can heat the warm really quickly
