| Best clippers I've ever had | |
| | I bought these a few years ago and they've been used on my son, my fella, me and anyone else that wants a haircut. They've never let me down and have never felt like they're going blunt at all. They keep a good charge and you can plug them into the mains if you need some extra power. Easily enough good charge for one precise haircut. The combs slide on and fix securely to the clippers. I've had clippers before where the combs are fiddly to get on and the blades become slow or get jammed too easily and make you cross and stressed out! That's not the case with these clippers and I'd recommend you get them if you're worried about buying another set of clippers that will just let you down after a while. These wont. Believe me, I speak from years of experience.
| | Requires effort does work but weak combs | |
| | Ignored the reviews at my peril, the comb snapped on 2nd use, they are very weak with a thin slither of plastic holding them to the unit. The unit itself seems to take a considerable time to cut but gets there in the end, recommended, no...
| | | Everything was fine for a few months until one da the grade 1 comb (the only one I use) simply disintegrated. The seller, Duronic, failed to reply to inquiries about warranty claims (an experience I now see I shared with other customers of this firm) and Amazon won't get involved - they've taken their cut of the deal, so why should they care, seems to be their attitude.
When I tried searching for spare combs, all I could find were desperate inquiries from people in the same situation. Without combs, you're up the Swanee, so this turned out to be not such a good deal after all.
| | Aesthetics over functionality? | |
| | I bought this after my old mains powered 'boneshaker' fell apart. The unit looks and feels good, so my expectations were high. Got through my stubble ok, then got hopelessly stuck half way round my head, snagging and chewing hair. Had a few more goes over some weeks with similar or worse results. Looked here today and, encouraged by some good reviews, removed the two screws and steel plate, cleaned it all out. Suddenly all's well, it cut smoothly and quietly, Hope I won't be needing a screwdriver every time. Then, while changing the comb my 9mm one snapped in half. Grrr!
| | | After reviewing the huge choice in this market, I went for this product. The product represents good value for money, because it comes with all of the accessories that make the clipper really useful.
There is a broad choice of graded combs in the box. This appealed to me, because this was the first clipper I had ever bought. It became the first time I have ever cut my own hair, so I wanted to ensure that whatever mistakes I made were recoverable.
And it worked first time! I am now looking forward to saving a fortune on barber's bills.
The user guide is thankfully brief. It summarises how to maintain the clipper (which involves a Phillips-head screwdriver) and how to use it (nape, back, sides, top, etc). The user guide makes no suggestions about which grade/millimetrage are appropriate in which circumstances, or what to look for when tapering hair.
Recharge the unit properly - in accordance with the user guide - BEFORE using it (minimum 16 hours before its first use), think hard about what you intend to do BEFORE rushing in and doing it and you'll be fine.
