Good
4 out of 5 stars.
This was the season where Damon Hill finally won the world championship. It also seen the debut of super rookie Jacques Villeneuve who nearly won the title at his first attempt as Hill began to choke toward the end of the season, and Villeneuve had a late surge.

Schumacher joined Ferrari and would stay there until his retirement in 2006. He was able to drag the 'red bus' to three victories.

David Coulthard joined a struggling, winless McLaren, joining Häkkinen for what turned out to be a six season partnership. He remained there until 2004.

Olivier Panis won a fantastically unpredictable race in Monaco, for his one and only GP victory.

This was Martin Brundle's final season, as Jordan left him standing for 1997. He deserved a few more seasons.

After cramming so much on to the previous season's review, we're back to a ridiculously condensed video. It only gains points for the Hill-Villeneuve championship scrap.

The most useless grand prix review ever
1 out of 5 stars.
Only five minutes of race footage, Don't even bother buying it if you're an F1 fan. Nothing like the 1995 review. In such a great year why make it squashed! Not good at all. Far too short. Save your money and if you want a 1996 season review look for one on Ebay or the 'Damon Hill' one on Amazon but not this screwed up one. What a disappointment. If you want this you're going to have to think hard or you're going to experience only 90 minutes of one of the best F1 seasons ever. And why have long versions of more boring years such as 2005. Disappointment all round.

Far too short
2 out of 5 stars.
Put it this way - there were 16 races in 1996 that lasted about 90 minutes EACH! This review lasts for just 90 minutes! Enough said?
There is just sooo much stuff missing from the video and in such a great year in the sport I find it amazing that they didn't make it twice as long!? Such a disappointment!

Short But Sweet
4 out of 5 stars.
The 1996 season was the season when Damon Hill finally banished his demons and became World Champion. This video documents all the vital points in the season covering all 16 rounds.
While the video is fast paced, it covers each race in a measily 4-5 minutes leaving it feeling very rushed and very itty-bitty. While the action on track is great, I think the video would have been enhanced by going to 130 minutes (like many of the other years to follow) rather than a squashed 90 minute version.

Not the best of FIA videos...

The Year of the Brit
4 out of 5 stars.
Perhaps one of the golden years of Formula One history for Britain and one in which Hill held Schumacher like dominance over the championship. A year where new drivers emerged such as the great talents of one Jacques Villeneuve and Williams dominated.
The review is a great recrd of the last British Formula One World Champ of which the only flaw is the shortness of the review where other years had come in at over 2 hours this one only manages 90 mins! Oh well you cant have everything but what is included in those 90 mins is pure gold!
