Multiple Sclerosis -The Self Help Guide
2 out of 5 stars.
This is a thorough, interesting, encouraging book, which guides you through the minefield of alternative, traditional orthodox and complementary therapies which are associated with MS. The author writes with insight and authority, and is very likeable - making you feel well supported. However, since it was first published in 1981, and despite re-printing in 1992, the advances in the diagnosis and treatment of MS have been phenomenol, and therefore this book does not reflect the present medical climate. If you are in the position of not being eligible for betainterferon, or your MRI scan is not confirming MS then maybe this book can help you to take control, otherwise it is sadly out of date.

A must read for anyone with MS
5 out of 5 stars.
This was the first book I bought when I was diagnosed with MS and it was one of a few things that helped me stay positive and help myself with this illness.

well worth a read
4 out of 5 stars.
This book was recommended to me by a friend of my Mum who has MS and I have already recommended it to someone else having bought it a month ago. I have just been diognosed with MS and the book was really informative on a whole range of subjects - not just for me but for my fiancé and parents etc. too. It is a very positive view on MS and takes information from many sources. The only thing to bear in mind is that the advice is only advice, and most of the suggested diets and therapies etc. have not been proved or medically tested. At the end of the day it's one person's way of dealing with it but well worth a read.

A down to earth book of facts and hope
5 out of 5 stars.
I have read a number of books since I was diagnosed with MS last year and I have seen a pattern developing with each one - diet seems to be the key to helping yourself. Judith Graham's book has been the most logically laid out, factually accurate and her opinions are undeniably convincing. This book more than any other is practical and useful either reading it from cover to cover, or using it as a reference book for specific points. I am sure that my health will improve now that I am following her suggestions - all hail evening primrose oil!

Highly motivating & empowering
5 out of 5 stars.
This is very helpful book for anyone with multiple sclerosis. I found her advice very helpful, and although I did not agree with everything in the book it gave me the ability to help myself and be an active participant in my treatment rather than a subject. I have had MS for 8 years now, and I am doing okay (I have fun, argue with my husband, go on vacation just like normal people :)). Sorry about your diagnosis, but it is not the end off the world. Really it is not.
